Your PhotoArt Experience Instructors

Initially looking for opportunities to photograph models, vintage costumes and photo-artistic themes, we two got together back in 2016 and started to develop creative ideas and organise shoots for our own enjoyment, as well as for entry into club and national competitions.

We have organised over 40 model shoots since then including two trips to Paris to shoot vintage fashion.

As formal retirement approached, we decided to take our passion a step further and offer similar opportunities to other like-minded photographers. So, The PhotoArt Experience was formed.

Bob Galley

Bob started his photography in the late 1950s when, as a lad, he borrowed a camera to photograph the city of Babylon just doing simple black and white contact prints. In the early 1970s, a Royal Marine Photographer gave him a course on dark room processing whilst Bob was working in the Falkland Islands as a Scientific Officer for Radio and Space Research. Whilst living in Australia, Bob ran a camera club for a few years and for the last 25 years he has been running a wedding photography business alongside a full-time career.

As a founding partner of The PhotoArt Experience, Bob specialises in providing quality lighting and technical set ups and is one of our expert instructors.

Carol McNiven Young

Carol is a retired brand marketing consultant whose passion these days is in creating artistic photographic images. She has been awarded medals in international photographic exhibitions and has achieved a Fellowship distinction from the Royal Photographic Society. Carol is a N&EMPF Judge and also gives talks on her photography.

As a founding partner, and owner, of The PhotoArt Experience, Carol specialises in pre-production activities such as theme and costume design and owns an extensive wardrobe of theatrical and period costumes. She also enjoys ‘creative editing’ and is an avid Photoshop and Lightroom user.
